FAQ - Buggies

Q. What is the advantage of a light weight machine?
A. Be very wary of "light weight" machines. Lightweight often translates to fragile. One piece machines are generally made from lighter gauge metal to keep the "lift up" weight down. The AutoCaddy Ace is made out of aluminium and the bolt hinges are plastic mouldings to ensure strength in the weakest points on the buggy. Although it is stronger than most fold-up buggies, it does not have the projected life of multi section construction machines, as is the case for the majority of folding style machines.
The Leader and Bantam are made as multi section frame buggies. This means we can use heavier material to provide strength, without the individual sections being heavy to lift (the heaviest thing you will ever have to lift is the battery).
The penalty with this type of buggy is the 30 seconds extra time it takes to put together.

Q. My mate has got a remote control buggy. Do you supply remote controls?
A. We know they are fun. But isn't that what golf is supposed to be?
Teemate and AutoCaddy buggies are not supplied with the remote control options. (Golfers need their clubs with them don't they?)
The added electronic complications are known to reduce reliability and can prove costly to repair when failures occur.
We strongly recommend against remote controlled machines unless you are prepared to pay a lot more for your machine in the first instance and put up with high repair costs in the long term.
