Australian regulations - Things you should know about electric golf buggies and battery chargers.

Australian consumer laws require the following points:

A battery charger that has been tested for energy safety against the relevant Australian Standard and certified as meeting that standard is required to be marked with an Australian Approval number. This number will commence with a letter (Q,N,NSW,V or SA), signifying the state of issue, followed by a series of numbers. i.e. N2213, Q2213 etc. If there are no such markings, it is illegal to sell the charger in Australia.

A battery charger must also comply with the Australian Communications Management Authority regulations in relation to the products potential to cause interference to radio, television and other susceptible equipment. A product that has been tested for electro magnetic compatibility against the relevant Australian Standard and certified as meeting that standard is required to be marked with what is known as a c-tick number. This labeling comprises of a circle, with a tick in the center and a number commencing with the letter N, followed by a series of numbers that identifies the manufacturer or importer. i.e

N2213
If there are no such markings, it is illegal to sell the buggy in Australia.
